A Doctor Who Cares
Meet Dr. Carlos Benavides
Dr. B grew up in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico and Douglas, Arizona. The son of a dentist, he had the opportunity to see the transformative power of dentistry from an early age. Dr. B knew he wanted to enter health care when he got older, but it wasn’t until he interviewed his father and a number of other dentists that he discovered dentistry was his true passion.
Dr. B earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Physiology from the University of Arizona, and he went on to study dentistry at Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington D.C. Dr. B worked as an associate for 6 years after graduating, honing his expertise and discovering what his own philosophy of care is. Now, with the opening of Buena Vida Dental Studio, he is able to provide the high-quality, thorough and conservative care that he believes all patients deserve.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. B enjoys staying active by using his home gym and taking his dogs off-roading in his Jeep. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, and listening to live music.

What to expect
During your first visit
PATIENT EXPERIENCE
When you first walk through our doors of our dental office in Tucson, you’ll be greeted by our comfortable environment and our friendly office staff. You’ll be invited to sit down and relax as you fill out any new patient forms prior to your appointment. Once those are complete and our team is ready for you, we’ll invite you back into one of our operatories.
You’ll receive x-rays, photos, a comprehensive exam, and Dr. B will sit down with you to discuss the results and develop the best plan for you; from your hygiene to any dental treatment needed. If everything looks good, you’ll be able to schedule your next appointment in the front office. If anything needs extra attention, Dr. B will explain the results and take time to address any questions or concerns you might have, and he will describe any further treatment recommendations.
WHAT TO BRING
In order to help make your visit more efficient, we ask that you bring your ID, your insurance information, and any patient forms you’ve filled out prior to your appointment.

Community Outreach Partnerships
Giving Back
Our philosophy of care goes beyond the office walls. We believe that it’s our responsibility to care for our patients, both in and out of the operating chair, and one of the best ways to do this is through our Tucson community outreach programs. We treat patients with special needs under sedation by a team of professional anesthesiologists, and we also partner with the Halo Network, Give Kids a Smile, and October Fest, which provide dental care to underserved communities.
