Dentist

Carlos L. Benavides D., D.D.S.

Dr. Benavides grew up in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico and Douglas, Arizona. The son of a dentist, he had the opportunity to see the transformative power of dentistry from an early age.

Dr. Benavides knew he wanted to enter health care when he got older, but it wasn’t until he interviewed his father and a number of other dentists that he discovered dentistry was his true passion.

Dr. Benavides earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Physiology from the University of Arizona, and he went on to study dentistry at Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington D.C. Dr. Benavides worked as an associate for 6 years after graduating, honing his expertise and discovering what his own philosophy of care is. Now, with the opening of Buena Vida Dental Studio, he is able to provide the high-quality, thorough, and conservative care that he believes all patients deserve.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Benavides enjoys staying active by using his home gym and taking his dogs off-roading in his Jeep. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, and listening to live music.

Chloe

Hi there, I’m Chloe. I was born and raised right here in Tucson, Arizona! I started my career in dentistry in 2010 as a clinical assistant. As my skill set grew, I found that my calling was in the administrative aspect of the dental office.

My passion lies in developing a trusting relationship with our clients and managerial-administrative functions. Getting to know my patients and providing the upmost care is my number one priority!

When I’m not in the office, I’m likely cheering on my daughter at her volleyball games or yelling from the stands at my son’s basketball/baseball games! My husband Jim and I are living out our farm dreams, we have two dogs Darth and Darla, and two goats Bob and Jet! Stay tuned for the next addition!

Erika

Hi, my name is Erika, and I am a mother/bonus mom to three wonderful kiddos: Amari, Lincoln, and Manny. In addition, I am a Fiancé & Pet mom. I was born and raised here in Tucson, but I am always learning new things about the desert or discovering new places to explore or dine.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandparents. Other favorite pastimes are going to U of A Baseball games and hunting for deals at Goodwill. Here at Buena Vida Dental Studio, I am one of the Business Assistants. I enjoy greeting patients as they arrive at the office and educating them on the wide array of services we offer. We are here to support you and your overall health and help you achieve your dental goals!

Registered Dental Assistant

Elisa, R.D.A.

Hello, I’m Elisa! I’m a dental assistant here at Buena Vida Dental Studio, where I take pride in creating a comfortable and positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

I’ve truly found a passion for this career, and I’m excited to continue learning, and expanding my skills and education in the dental field. I was born in Nogales, Arizona, and raised here in Tucson. Outside of the office I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, visiting new coffee shops and local restaurants, and exploring the outdoors by going on hikes on my free time.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Anahí, R.D.H.

Hi! I’m Anahi, a Certified Registered Dental Hygienist dedicated to helping patients achieve and maintain healthy gums and confident smiles. I grew up here in Tucson, AZ and have spent many years building my career in the dental field.

I began as a dental assistant, advanced to an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, and ultimately earned my certification as a Registered Dental Hygienist.

I truly love what I do, especially when it comes to improving gum health and educating patients on how to care for their smiles. My goal is to make every visit comfortable, informative, and positive, so you feel empowered about your oral health.

Outside of the office, I’m a proud wife and dog mom to two incredibly spoiled pups, Sapphie and Rhaegar. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, traveling across the country, and exploring new cities. At home, you’ll often find me cooking or baking and trying out new recipes.

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Kallee, E.F.D.A.

Kals has been in the dental field since 2018 and brings both clinical precision and genuine heart to every patient interaction. She assists in all areas of dentistry—from hygiene to oral surgery—helping procedures run seamlessly while ensuring patients feel comfortable, informed, and at ease.

Known for her compassion, patience, and ability to break things down in a way patients truly understand, Kals creates an experience that feels less clinical and more personal. She is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) with additional training as a TMJ massage therapist, phlebotomist, tooth gem technician, and in photogrammetry. Always driven to grow, she is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), further expanding her ability to care for others at a higher level.

For Kals, dentistry is more than a profession—it’s a way to help people rebuild confidence and take control of their health. Outside the office, she is deeply family-oriented, caring for her loved ones and sharing life with her husband of nearly 10 years and their four dogs. She has a creative spirit and enjoys art, music, movies, great food, and volunteering in her community. Whether in the operatory or in everyday life, Kals leads with empathy, strength, and a genuine passion for helping others feel their best.
